This blog has been a way to interact with some of you around "subjects" that Aristotle has taught too many of us in the West, even today, to disparage: females, rhetoric, and translation. Much recovery yet to do.

A Colorful "No Commentary"
Click here to see Aristotle's third and fourth "definitions" of "rhetoric."
Blame Marcus Borg. Blame our emergent, hippie church. Blame responses before the second cup of coffee, but I can't help but wonder if we ("academics") have been ignoring the "heart" of Aristotle because we don't want to imagine the heart as something more than overly romantic and inferior to the head. Just a thought brought about by the colorful translation. Like your color-coded system, though I didn't read all of it (yet).
Thanks for reading, with a cup of coffee and Borg and emergent hippie church and the "heart" of Aristotle in you. And thank you also for the kind, encouraging comment. Know anyone (even academic) who's understands or experiences "synesthesia"?
