Julia Smith's Bible -- to download

Google books has just made Julia Smith's Bible available again, to fully search and even to download. The company removed it for some time just after I'd posted it was available.  [update with link:]

Here is Smith's translation of Genesis 3:20,

And Adam will call his wife's name Life, for she was the mother of all living.

Smith calls her translating "literal." Would you agree that "Life" is a good and a literal translation for what usually is rendered "Eve"?

One day in my life I will try to find out the etymology of the German word for midwife which is Hebarme and somehow makes me think of Eva - life
It's a passing thought I have occasionally when doing Bible study

Wir alle aber warten auf . . . mit Spannung erwarten . . . von Ihnen zu hören, Jane, was die deutschen "Hebarme" ist. Is she Eva - life?
